PaintedDogs TM's composition gets ever-better. While this might not have the sweeping, philosophical bent that made Lost In The Country a perfect record, it's still a staggeringly beautiful, sometimes subtle thing that makes it an excellent companion album. Favorite track: Seen it Coming.

Jake Grubman I saw Trace Mountains open for Wild Pink at DC9 in Washington, D.C. I like Wild Pink a lot but Trace Mountains was an eye-opener that night, and I only later realized I had previously seen Dave Benton perform with LVL Up at the 9:30 Club. This album is just eminently listenable: great instrumentation, easy lyrics, a lot of spirit. Favorite track: The Moon.

jellopuddinz A gorgeous and solemn wave goodbye to a deep connection. What a fabulous introspective snapshot of heartache and uncoupling. Best album of 2021 for me. Favorite track: On My Knees.
